Julie serves as the 学生成功中心主任 at 东北湖景学院. She began her career in higher education 21 years ago as a graduate assistant at the University of North Texas responsible for the coordination of Supplementation Instruction designed for developmental math courses. While earning her Master’s in Education with a 大学 Counseling concentration, she interned as an Academic Counselor in the 大学 of Arts and Sciences focused on the success of undecided, 非传统, 以及学业有风险的学生. 曾被聘为全职学术顾问, she continued her work with that population and developed the Motivating Toward Success workshop targeting freshmen whose CGPA fell below academic good standing and was able to increase the percentage of students returning to good standing by 13%.

在艺术与科学学院任职期间, she was given the opportunity to teach and coordinate the Career Development course for the university which resulted in 75% of undecided students deciding a major and graduating with that chosen major. She also has experience in teaching developmental math and developed the curriculum for a leadership class and Peace Corps Prep certificate.
作为本科生研究的助理院长, she led a team of Academic Counselors in providing advising and programming to the 2000 undecided, major-changers, 前期, pre-music, 完成学业的学生. She developed 22 Learning Communities comprised of nine hours with a major focus and assigned peer mentors which yielded 98% enrollment.

She ended her tenure at the University of North Texas as the Senior Assistant Dean in the 大学 of Science and assisted the creation of a brand new advising office and led the advising team and faculty to create and improve services both in and out of the classroom.
